Enough
for Poverty!
"In
a country badly governed, wealth is something to be ashamed of.”
In
all parts of the world, everyone is affected by poverty. Living in poverty is a
horrible state wherein the individual lacks essential aspects needed for life.
Actually, there is no such thing as perfect world that is why society can never
be equal. They say, everyone deserves to have equal rights, yet why does half
of the world was still living without a home, education, healthcare, or food?
Can
we really blame the government officials? Somehow it does, probably poverty is
due to the lack of governance in education, economy and security. However,
poverty became a perfect breeding for infectious life diseases – malnutrition,
injustices, robbery, and unfaithfulness.
Because
of poverty, Filipino children are suffering from malnutrition. Appropriate
nutrition and food intake are not fully given to a malnourished child that
needs attention, guidance and support from his or her parents. The proper
growing up years is supposed to be given, yet poverty hinders them to be.
As poverty increases, robbery incident also
increases. They say, "Poverty is the mother of all crime”. People living without enough money may push
them to do whatever it takes just to sustain their family’s needs. They thought
that stealing or robbery is the solution to their problems.
On
the other hand, if some people tend to steal, others tend to commit suicide.
This is a big problem that everyone can be a victim and many innocent lives are
lost. Just because they are suffering from stress, despair and poverty, they
thought they are hopeless and they lack faith in God.
Finally,
Poverty has a bad impact on society because there is inequality and injustice.
This data further stresses the degree of poverty that the Philippines are now
experiencing. This is one of the evidences that the rich get richer and the
poor get poorer. With this case, everybody expects that at present, inequality
and injustice are at worst and will surely be in the future. Unequal income
distribution will cause their families to get poor to the point of not being able
to acquire basic necessities. This will then result to poverty being widespread
if it remains unanswered as time goes by.
The
world would be miserable, full of anger and hatred, but even there is poverty,
it doesn’t mean that life will always be hopeless and dangerous. Everyone was
given a sense of initiative to succeed in life and not lay one’s palm and beg
for a living.
All
in all, having poverty is unfair and unethical but Philippines deserves to be
free on it. The persons who are in the
position must have enough knowledge to conquer this problem. They should make a
step to solve this real time problem. I still believe in the saying "It is not
your fault if you were born poor, but it’s your fault to die poor.”
